Nyx is lost

John made it into the bay of the base.
"Jacob, over here ASAP, we might have a little trouble."
The gunner was mutating into slime.
All the radiation he absorbed was lethal.
John checked his suit, and saw a huge tear where Ness had gotten him.
"Oh, Shit."

Jacob landed.
"John, what's wro-"
Jacob's eyes widened at the tear.
"John, get the hell away from that slime!"
Jacob picked it up with his power, throwing it far away.
It melted through the ground.
"John, you need to go into the base.." Jacob said.
And that's when the slime burst through the ground.
"It's alive!?" Jacob said.

"Are you with them." He asked motioning to john with his head, "killers of us, freaks." He said slowly. A tentacul came from his arm and wrapped around his head. "Because if you are." He pulled his octo hand out and the mini tentaculs spread out and the stinger poked out. He put it to his head and waited for his reply.

John jumped away from the slime.
He made it right as the Warthog was destroyed.
He then looked over and saw a freak holding Nyx with a tentacle.
He shot a rocket at it from a portable rocket launcher.

A tentacul ripped from his teeshirt at swipped at the rocket midd course, it flew into a rock.

Jacob looked at Liberio.
"Stop. NOW." He said, in the Persuasion voice.
((Pretty much makes you let go of him...))
"He's my brother, he won't kill you if he won't kill me. I'm a freak too."

Liberios hand fell, and black smoke poured out, the area was filled. He ran through and a tentacul grabbed onto a window and pulled him up.

John slapped high-incendiary ammo into his M4.
He opened it up on Liberio.
"Take this you bastard!!" John yelled, feeling the gun snarl.

Jacob flew into the air.
"One of these days I'll be more than just defense." Jacob said, and made a translucent shield around John leaving a clear hole for the gun to shoot.

Nyx jumped into the way of the other freak they were shooting at and turned on his proximity shield. Nyx didnt shoot but he was stopping the bullets. "I do not kill what hasnt harmed me." Nyx told him looking back over to the people. "Why did you follow us here?" He asked roboticly.

"You can't trust people anymore, Nyx." He said.
He looked down at John.

Nyx nodded to him and thought a minute. "your probably right... but I can hope." He answered shrugging.

"Look around you. This is from people hoping that something would change, hoping that the company wasnt be." John said grimly.
He knew how hope worked in this world.
Hell, he'd basically been through it all.

Jacob looked at John.
He was right.

Nyx thought about it a moment then decided to ask a question he had been wondering. "How many 'freaks' are there that have the same sentience as me you and this guy?" He asked hoping it was a bigger number then he was fearing.

"Not many. About 20 out of every neighborhood, 30 neighborhoods."

Nyx nodded thinking about it. "Ok.... Now if i put this shield down are you going to just go and shoot at him for no reason?" Nyx asked not wanting to waste power.

A tentacul came from his wrist and wrapped around a car, it was lifted in the air and hurled across the area. He ran to the beach where he jumped off the warf and into the water.

Nyx shrugged and looked back over to the original guy. "Ok yah i was majorly wrong... but whatever..." He sighed and his head dropped slightly. "I guess i was hoping for someone else like me.. other then you..." HE said and shrugged again.

"Sorry to dissapoint." Jacob said, disregarding the comment.

Nyx looked over and chuckled shaking his head. "your on this squad thing... im not. im here to help with whatever suits me best. I have no idea of anything.... so till then im here." Nyx answered hoping he understood.

"I'm only on this squad until I decide. I'm here as a favor to my brother. I'm looking for a better oppurtunity than this, but not many people have food, water, and shelter, almost no freaks do, and I have a girlfriend to provide for. So until I find Earth the way it used to be, I'm here."

John walked over to them.
"this isn't a 'squad' persay. More like a survival group."
John looked at Jacob sadly.
"I just got word. The resistance base was torn by the company, there are no survivors, just a base and guns. No more humans." John told Jacob.

Jacob looked at John.
"I'm..I'm sorry." Jacob said.
Hell, those were John's collegues...
